We were excited to work the Meal Magic team, and in very short order we were able to make a full function food service interface with balance notification in TouchBase for parents at Mead School District.

With school winding up for the yea and the madness of registration over, it is a good idea to ask your technical folks if backups are being done on a regular basis. It is ultra-critical to confirm that your data is secure, backed up, and easily obtained in the rare event that a server crashes.
Servers can crash for hundreds of reasons without notice (usually) and never at the right time. Even though backups should be scheduled regularly throughout the year, losing transaction data from registration is no way to start off the year.

This year InTouch is moving the usergroup meetings from Spring to Fall. Moving the meetings to fall allows us more flexibility to implement updates and interfaces during our "slow season" rather than trying to implement interfaces and updates during summer when we have many new districts doing full installations, registration, and when our registration support is in full swing.
Usergroup meetings are currently being scheduled and invites are being sent out.

Non-Students, Not In System, and Terminal
The beginning of the school year is always a hectic, exciting, and at times overwhelming time of year. Students parents and staff are all running around registering students, paying fees and getting ready for another great year of learning.
Often overlooked is the fact that all summer the districts technology department has been preparing the district for the next year by updating systems, computers, and servers. This is a critical and highly important task to ensure the district is keeping up with the latest technology and requirements.
Often times, as systems are being updated, some smaller processes such as transferring files, or installing certain applications on new workstations can be missed.
Looking at InTouch specifically now, one of the most common calls this time of year on our help desk, is "I am not seeing new students" or "My students are still showing last yelars grades". Both of these questions are the result of student files not being updated into InTouch. Generally, this is an easy fix, but sometimes it can be more complicated.
Fortunately, InTouch will automatically roll-over and update your student records as new or updated files are sent to the servers. Typically in this situation we can contact your technology department and have them import a new file, or we can fix the actual issue (such as a scheduled task that stopped working, or a file transfer that stopped working). We try our best to manually update the files if they have not been updated recently once we have new files present on the server.
Keep in mind that these situations are generally easy to correct, and first contact your IT department then call InTouch support.
Here is what you can do if this happens with a customer/parent at your window:
To run a sale for a student that is not InTouch Terminal:
Use: if a student has not been updated in InTouch terminal
Steps [In InTouch Terminal]:
1. Lookup Non Student
2. Find your Non Student: “Non In System/NIS”
4. Add the correct item(s)
5. In the receipt window (top left in terminal) click a line
6. Add a memo with the students name
Once the student has been added to InTouch terminal:
1. Go to adjust receipt in terminal
2. Search for the receipt
3. Select the items on the receipt (all)
4. Do a “WRONG CUSTOMER” adjustment
5. Find the correct student
