InTouch Receipting is proud to welcome Irving Independent School District to the InTouch family of districts!
This week wrapped up the first portion of training, and we had a wonderful time meeting all of the advisors and students at the high schools! We look forward to working with the high schools as we continue to train and deploy InTouch at each of their programs.
InTouch is being used in the following programs between the four high schools:
We are looking forward to having the Irving ISD programs join the team!

InTouch provides much more than the highest-quality software: we provide software implemented by expert project planners, experienced technical staff, and supported by experienced help personnel.
A business manager’s quote below discusses why she purchased InTouch over just an online software or a software not innovative enough to manage a large district’s challenges:
InTouch’s consulting personnel worked with the district in first understanding and then co-designing processes and procedures to make effective changes in their accounting processes to free teachers to teach yet allow a very robust experience for the parent.
Feel free to contact InTouch for ideas and opportunities to collect more revenue, more securely. InTouch’s ROI can literally be a month or two; it is worth evaluating and certainly more than merely selling things online.
What a time to be in Boston! The World Series was in full swing and the town was alive! The weather was perfect.
We wish to thank all attendees who stopped by our booth and especially thank Keller ISD (Texas) for the warm thanks offered for the InTouch implementation at the district this year. We were able to connect with users from many states – Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Iowa, and Texas – among others at the conference. Our attendance at conferences is to discuss our application suite to new prospects, of course, but also services as a great platform to catch up with current users and consortiums. Diane and Arnold are always available and highly visible to our current and prospective clients. InTouch is more than a software application – we gain friends and we gain trust between our client’s organization and the InTouch organization.
We had a booth drawing for the gift certificate and during this time we lost several information requested slips provided by attendees. If you are one of these folks waiting for information or our informative 80 page bound brochure, please send us a note.
Many attendees wanted more information on the full online integration and extensive partnering InTouch has certified – upon leaving most visitors realized InTouch is truly different and certainly an application to consider in controlling many areas of their business. Our relationship with FrontStream Payments™ has allowed InTouch to excel at the online application and implementation process.
From the football gate to the front offices in school buildings InTouch has the most superior, fast point of sale terminal software available. From swiping credit cards at the concession stands to a complete online parent experience, InTouch and our fully integrated website, TouchBase™ cannot be outdone. InTouch is simply the best application suite available.
Please contact our office, Diane Mortzheim, for any materials and to setup a web meeting or an in person meeting to discuss the facets of InTouch and how InTouch may effectively eliminate challenges in clean revenue collections, financial controls and general ledger integration.
We had a great opportunity to meet many of our current and prospective InTouch clients at SunGard’s national user group meeting held in San Antonio, Texas. Thank you for the hospitality and very pleasant experience. The SNUG conference participation is one example of InTouch’s commitment in partnering with other leading software vendors providing school services – SunGard has been very helpful in assisting us with our general ledger and student systems integration.
If you were an attendee or wish to obtain our presentation below, please contact our offices for a complementary copy.
What a treat for myself and staff to present to almost 150 clients in our first two user group meetings! The dialogues have been open, fun and informative for certainly InTouch, but we’ve heard great feedback from the attendees this year’s set is our best yet!
As always, if you attended and there was a question not answered or a new one to present, please send the question into the office or directly to one of the presenters for clarification.
I am certain no other receipting, online payments and systems integrator supports our clients and invests the time to meet with our users as deep as we do here at InTouch – the simple reason for this is this forum has made us the best we can be.
I wish to thank for the Central Kitsap meeting Dara Sellers who coordinated our efforts and even brought in the ‘goodies’.
At Renton’s user meeting I would like to thank Tracy Patterson, Renton SD Business Manager, and Barbara de Kruyf for hosting the large group on Friday. Barbara setup the room long before we arrived and the entire group appreciated the catering effort.
With just a few minutes’ notice, Barbara talked about how Renton School District uses InTouch effectively for their stadium admittance and cash accountability – this is a new agenda of InTouch is to support concessions and gates smoother and more effectively. Where there is cash, so should there be InTouch!
With even less notice, I offer a special thanks to Sharon Suver-Jones, Business Manager – Shoreline School District, on how Shoreline integrates InTouch and TouchBase food service web and over the counter collections to their Skyward™ food service application. Sharon demonstrated even though the Skyward interface is not integrated like other InTouch food service interfaces, she is able to post student deposits effectively a couple times each day.
Our user presentation crew of Kelsey, Anita, Jeff and Arnold travel to Salem, Oregon on Tuesday to meet with long-term; clients implemented this year, and even a prospective InTouch school district. We are expecting about 100 attendees themselves traveling from the pacific coast, the Idaho border, from Ashland, and from the Portland area. Oregon has a very diverse user population – it should be a very lively meeting hosted by Salem School District! Here we will spend time reviewing Tyler’s Infinite Visions™ accounting interface – with Infinite Visions the largest accounting application used by our Oregon clients.
Arnold Mortzheim, CPA - President
The time when one software application could meet the full needs of a school district’s financial requirements or even going beyond a segment of those requirements are coming to a close. Best of breed applications are focusing on specific business applications and working or integrating with other best of breed applications with an accomplishment of providing an excellent overall application suite.
For example, a student system is not focused on school lunch sales – the student system should be focusing on student information and demographics. A general ledger system is not a receipting system however these two applications rely on each other for data exchange. InTouch, for example, exchanges with general ledger systems at several levels.
When evaluating any system solution it is our suggestion to first look at the business process to be addressed and seek applications specifically designed for this task. After finding the applications which meet the process, then determine which applications effectively and willingly integrate with other current and potential applications the district utilizes. Always keep in mind some of the software applications may change over time, so securing software with a positive integration attitude will enable future change.
Where we have seen districts have challenges is when they purchase an all-in-one software application which is purported to answer all sorts of business activities. Unfortunately, sometimes a district finds one aspect or another of the all-in-one is not meeting their needs. To change at this point is costly and may be prohibitive in other ways which creates expense, hassles, or, worse remaining with a deficient component.
The Central Kitsap user group meeting for our peninsula clients is being held on October 21st and the last chance to register is Friday October 18th!
You can register for the meeting several ways:
1. Look for the invite that was sent to your district
2. Register through the EVENTS tab on www.intouchreceipting.com
3. Register by clicking the post on our Facebook page
4. Call our offices at 800-627-4767
We hope to see many of our customers attending this year, and we already have several districts attending the meeting on 10/21. Don't miss out!!
We are holding several meetings around the state in the coming weeks so look for the one in your area. We also encourage districts to attend other meetings if you are unable to attend the meeting in your area.
InTouch Receipting will be an exhibitor at the 2013 International ASBO conference as we have been for several years!
InTouch will have a CPA available to discuss a school district’s overall online and building revenue and collection processes:
· why it is important to have a fully integrated system from building to web
· cash control measures – collecting cash for donations, fees, fundraisers, clubs in a secure and efficient manner
· reconciliation approaches and seamless integration to the general ledger
· integration with other district systems supporting a compliant, secure, and audit-supported environment
· improve revenue collections
· reduce labor costs in the overall process
· how InTouch and other systems work together in providing solid solutions in generating, reporting and controlling revenues
· how to collect revenue to replace lost textbooks, library books and computer initiatives (computers to students)
